We are currently looking for talented and curious students who want to be part of WU Vienna's coming Vis Moot Team. The application deadline ends on 30 June 2024 (see further details below).

 

What you can expect from the Vis Moot experience:

​

• You will write two legal memoranda, which subsequently will serve as the basis for your Master thesis. Thus, you will write your Master thesis during these six months.

• You will meet hundreds of fellow students from all over the world.

• You will improve your legal English skills and your legal writing immensely.

• You will meet dozens of lawyers and arbitration practitioners around the world.

• You will largely enhance your oral advocacy skills.

• You will practice your pleading skills during half a dozen of practice rounds in law firms in Vienna (in the last years these were held for example at Pitkowitz & Partners, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Platte Legal, Vavrovsky Heine Marth, Schoenherr and many more).

• You will travel to international pre-moot courts (travel costs will be mostly covered by the WU Vis Moot Association and other scholarships).

• You will discuss procedural questions of arbitration with Supreme Court justices at the Austrian Supreme Court and arbitration experts at the Vienna International Arbitral Centre.

• You will experience the Vis Moot spirit and - most importantly - have a lot of fun!

What you should bring along:

​

• We look for open-minded individuals who are willing to work hard and understand that team work is essential.

• You should be in your Master (LL.M.) or at the very end of your Bachelor (LL.B.) at WU Wien.

The application procedure:

For each applicant a two-step application procedure was established:

​

• Step 1 (Application): If the Vis Moot sounds interesting to you, please send your CV (in English or German) to wuvismootcourt@gmail.com until 30 June 2024.

• Step 2 (Interview Session): The most promising candidates will be invited to an interview session. The interview will take place in Vienna in the first or second week of July 2024. Candidates will be notified until 31 July 2024 whether they will be part of WU Vienna's next Vis Moot Team.
